It's about time for me to get at set of wheels+Winter Tires

Hi Everyone,

After owning my 1st Porsche 06 C4S for the last few months. It's about time that I need to get ready for some new wheels+winter tires.

My Porsche is my daily drive, and I'll daily be daily driving it in the winter as well.

I know Tire Rack offer some less expensive wheels+tires package, but I figure the wheels may also worthy nothing when I try to sell them later.

I currently have the 19" scorpion wheels, which I am consider turning them as winter wheels, then get some better looking (OEM Porsche or other aftermarket wheels) for my summer tires.

Any suggestions?

The C2S is not a widebody, so your post confuses me.

There's a difference b/t the 993 C2S and 997 C2S - the 993 is a widebody and the 997 is not.

I have some OEM 19" lobster forks for $850 off my '05 C2S if you want a set for winter (or summer). PM me if interested.

I used to think the same thing, but it's not the S that makes it a widebody for the 997 generation. It's the all wheel drive (C4, C4S, Targa 4, Targa 4S, Turbo, etc.) that are wide.

My 997 C2S is a narrow body (as they all are). For the 993 however, you are correct.

He is correct, a C2S is not a widebody from the 997 generation.

I could not see that you had a 993 when I was posting, but yes you do have a widebody.

If you don't want to buy the Cup 4 wheels, many guys buy OZ Allegeritas. They are light and strong, not real expensive, and have plenty of resale value to the race community.

No need to involve a dealer when so many 997 owners know their cars - also, it is the owner's manual and the PCNA WEB.

Or WIKI it: "In late 2005, Porsche announced the all wheel drive versions to the 997 lineup. Carrera 4 models (both Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S) were announced as 2006 models. Both Carrera 4 models are wider than their rear wheel drive counterparts by 1.26 inches (32 mm) to cover wider rear tires."

C2 is not wide, "S" or not. C4/C4S is wide and has rear wheels with a different offset.
