997Supercharged at Road Atlanta
I am surprised to hear that folks think the SC is a risk on track, it's so not. I am running a very hearty and proven engine at very low/ conservative level of boost. I am only at 6.2psi boost at redline. That's nothing. These engines, when well maintained, can handle far more boost than I am giving it, no problem. In terms of "well maintained", here is PART of what I mean: I run 15W-50 oil, and change oil and filter every 3k miles. When I start the car, EVERY time, I let it idle until the idle settles down to 750 RPMs. And then, when I drive off, I will not exceed 3k RPMs until the engine and oil is fully warmed up.
On track, the stress is on the brakes and tires. You can easily boil brake fluid, melt pads, and shred tires without your engine even working hard. So my greatest concern is not the engine, it's my brakes.
Besides,iIf I blow my engine I can rebuild it for less than the price of a set of HRE's with Hoosiers.
Suspension and R compounds are next- let the recommendations fly, gentlemen!

Car looks great John!! That thing must have sounded great coming down the track, did you get any videos??
I second the Bridgestone sentiment, I can't get over the difference in my drive since I switched
