I read an article about a dyno in california on an Evo when they first came out. They were dissapointed in the results they saw (with 91 octane). They came back a few days later with 93 octane and got much better HP on the same car, with the same stock programming.

We went through the same thing a while ago with the introduction ultra-low-sulphur diesel for our truck. We and it survived.
