997.2 exhaust removal

yes, I've searched. Anyway. I'm going to replace the exhaust soon (not sure with what-but that's not the question) I'm looking for some helpful hints before I start- What to take off first, any bolts that are difficult to access, etc. thanks, james

signature65 is infamous around these parts
I just took mine off to have the gundo hack welded on.....I have learned a few things that may help. Mine is a 997.1 but it should be similar.

First remove the three nuts holding the bracket to the frame instead of removing the 2 long bolts that bolt the muffler to the bracket. On my car the bolts are inserted from the top down so there is no way to get the long bolts out first.

Second remove the little rod that supports the bumper in the wheel well. lastly jack the car up a few inches to get the mufflers out from under the car. Makes it SOOO much easier instead of playing jigsaw.

Hope it helps, and hope the 997.2 is similar

Yeah, the .2 is different, but if anyone has the same sort of tips that Darren posted, except specific to the .2, that would be great!

It's pretty easy.. we have instructions for our center section. The two sides just have 13mm nuts holding them on too...
