HELP! Clutch Problems

This is my second P-car and, before you jump to conclusions, this isn't user error. I am having problems with the clutch hanging up. Sometimes there is a delay in the clutch engaging after I release the pedal. Last night, the car sat and revved and smoked- yes that dreadful clutch smell! I immediately disengaged the clutch, then released it again and it engaged fine. Now, it's slipping, intermittently but I have noticed it. I'm sure I've glazed the disk. I took it to the dealer and they will check it out on Monday.
Has anybody heard of this before? I am an experienced driver, the car has only 4K miles on it.

My car has about 2500 miles on it and I have not had similar experiences as you have described it. However, I do notice a burning rubber smell after I drive the car hard even for a couple of blocks. I suspected that the smell might be due to power shifting so I tried driving hard several times being careful to not slip the clutch. I still get the same burnt rubber smell. Does anyone know what could be happening here?

Possible the clutch was installed incorrectly. 4K is way to early for failure even with poor driving skilz.
