As fast as I can. Where I live there is a lot of traffic that for some reason thinks they need to stay in the left lane. We have every Soccer Mom Van doing 60mph in teh left lane. They should make a law that Van are not allowed in teh passing lanes. That would allow Porsche's to drive the way they were intended.

Amen!

(except sometimes my wife drives the minivan faster than most people in their street cars - she accelerates 0-45 in less than a minute). She even beat a Porsche to 55mph recently (she took her time and did it in 15 secs - I timed it - this pisses us off. You're in a damn Porsche - why would it take you over 20 secs to go from 0-55? Sell your car, and buy a Honda)

Yes. They all want you to know their car can go faster than yours. I get the biggest kick out of the Prius drivers that pass me when I'm in the center lane. Makes no difference how fast I go, there is always someone who wants to show me they can go faster so I try and maintain the speed of the majority of the traffic. Too fast or too slow causes too many safety issues for those just trying to get form point a to point B without feeling they're at the Petite Lemans. I'm Ok with getting passed on the highway.

Damn those Prius's! Yeah, I don't mind getting passed either... The problem I run into is that I use cruise control. I choose my speed. If you pass me, don't let me catch you. I hate passing the same person 15 times, without ever changing my speed.

Hang up the phone, or use cruise control or something - pay attention to your damn driving!

(I hate people who don't care about driving a 4000lbs missile at speed)

I don't really care about driving fast but I do I enjoy getting up to speed limit really fast. Once you are at speed you can't feel the difference between 65 and 85 as we only perceive acceleration. So might as well do speed limit.

I usually drive at C., but I have my spurts of D if I have someone who wants to play or I'm in a mood. I had it over 115 three times yesterday for example.

Dicky,

Is that in your GT2 or your Koenigsegg. I drive fast, in my DD SRT Cherokee and the 997. I'd say C. Except at night or in construction zones.

What can I say to convince my dad to go faster! He drives his car like an old lady, and it gets really annoying when there is miles of strait road ahead.

I'm sure I will get a of hate responses to this, but it irks the **** out of me to see an expensive sports car of any kind being driven like a senior citizen drives their Delta 88. It's a waste of money and engineering to put a sports car in the hands of someone who drives like a wussy.

Once I've negotiated the on ramp the fun part is over. At that point I tend to blend with the bulk of the traffic.

+1, brother...

Exactly... One can have a lot of within relative speed limits and safe speeds. On-ramps (or acceleration lanes), turns with recommended slower speeds, off-ramps (or deceleration lanes), and other parts of the road offer some decent excitement for the daily grind.

(something else I can't stand is why somebody can have almost a mile of acceleration space, and still cuts into traffic, causing the people in the slow lane to brake and slow down the flow of traffic - idiots)

Agreed, as I have seen similar things at the track myself.
