The biggest challenge for a 997 ownership

....... isn't just about finding a place to dispose your just drained Mobil 1 0W-40 or debating on what to write for a post on the omnipresent question from a newbie if he should get a PDK or a manual.... It's the unprovoked turkey attacks....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO MY EXTENDED FAMILY AT 6SPEED

Hahaha. I'm thinking a little reverse gear action and you have a free bird for dinner. Happy Thanksgiving to you, as well.

Why would anybody get a PDK in a 997? Panamera, yes. 911, no.

One reason is a 1.5 hour minimum each way daily commute in grueling interstate traffic in which I drive about 10 feet and then stop for a minute and then another 10 feet....It didn;t take long for the 6 speed to wear me down after working 10 hours. Granted I don't drive the car to work everyday, but I decided for the days I do, I was going with PDK this time. Truthfully, not quite as fun in the 911 but it takes a little of the anxiety out of the commute for me. Sure could have had some other great options though for that $4000.

For the same reason those who buy a new Ferrari 458 Italia can't buy one with anything other than a 7-speed double clutch gearbox...

Happy Thanksgiving to all! One of many things that I am thankful for this year is a) gettinng my first porsche and b) joining this community and all that I have learned.

Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!

PS. For what it is worth I thought the answer was "Resisting the mod bug"!

White or dark. It is your preference. Just make sure it's fully cooked. Or you will be regretting it. Have a Happy Thanksgiving to fuel up for Black Friday.
By the way my wife has a 05 Boxster manual Carmon Red, SB interior and I a 09 C4S PRGreen, natural Brown leather interior, PDK for the stop and go FWY traffic, hills in the Pacific NW. Best of both driving experiences., IMO ..Lexus hybrid SUV for Costco/Home Depot runs..
