BLKonBLK911C4S is infamous around these parts
....so I brought my car to sunset today. The technician experienced the problem when pulling my car in the garage. 45 minutes later my car was washed and the switch was replaced all under warranty. Great work from Sunset.

Had the same issue when I had the new 2009 C2S....... was a 50/50 on starting, and was just the switch. (15mins in and out at best at the dealer)

bbywu posted pictures on how to replace this in my thread. Unfortunately I haven't been able to replicate my issue, so not sure if mine was a fluke but hanging onto the thread.

Ha Ha...Actually I am. I was getting ready to a full detail so I wasn't to concerned with any fine scratches they might have put in the paint.

Not so fast. I started having this same problem myself this week; put in the clutch, turn the key...nothing. Rinse, repeat (5 times), then start. Thinking it might simply be the clutch switch, I cut the wires; started immediately...once, then intermittent problem reoccured. Bridged the wires, same results. Remve switch entirely, same result, but with new feature of hill assist idiot light coming on (they appear to be inter-connected).

Bottom line is that I am not convinced that it is the switch itself, but either a ground fault or starter gremlin.

Taking it to dealer for warranty replacement of clutch switch (for sh*ts and giggles) and will report back.

Hey all, there is a recall campaign for this issue. Got an email from the dealership asking me to bring it in. I took it in today and had it replaced while I waited (10 minutes).

I have had the original switch changed out three times; they said the part has been redesigned and is being installed as part of the recall campaign to avoid it going out again.

2011 Spyder, same exact thing was happening to me. It was the clutch switch and a very simple warranty covered item. And my dealer said they see it every so often.
