Quite valid points.
However (at least to me) it seems like a d*kkhead move of your salesman to roll his eyes. I think he should be congratulatory & supportive even if you told him you planned to drive the car off a cliff. Isn't sales about being polite?

Quote: I own a Panamera 4S as well as a Carrera S, so here's my take on the subject.

As a high-performance sedan, the Panny is NOT a very good looking car. But I didn't buy it as a sedan.

I've owned a number of Audi S4 Avants (station wagons) as my ski cars over the years, and loved them. I wanted a new one, but Audi (those swine) stopped importing the S4 wagon. What to do?

Then I started looking closer at the Panny. Hmmmm.... Big hatchback. Rear seats fold down. Lots of power. All wheel drive. Eureka! THAT's my new station wagon! I have 20" wheels for summer, but got a set of 18" wheels for my snow tires. With the Pirelli Sottozero snows on it, it's just as good in the snow as my S4 was -- and with the air suspension set to "high" it even has some ground clearance.

If you look at it as a high performance awd station wagon - it all makes sense AND even looks pretty good in the process.

My salesman just rolled his eyes when I told him the above. I'll probably get some more eyes rolling on the forum.

UGLY ...... They should make it a little smaller and install a Flat-6 in the front.... Maybe then I will consider it.....

I agree - it did handle great. Actually, better than great. In fact, it was the hands down, best 4-door experience of my life! (I got some quality time in one a few months ago.)

My "if it handled like a Camry..." reference was to make a point to just focus on only the aesthetics.

I love the front. I hate the back.

Quote: I test drove one and imho it is not camry at all. what do you mean? it handles great.

The Turbo looks good. Hopefully a few exterior "updates" are done for future models.

Nah, my salesman is a good guy. I've bought or leased 3 Porsches from him in the last 3 years and we're on good terms. His dealership also sells Audis and he's heard me ***** about the demise of the S4 Avant.

I think my reference to rolling eyes was more figurative than literal.

its growing on me too. Certain colors look better than others to mask//accentuate the butt. In black or meteor grey..it's hot !! Just the other day I saw one in olive green and one in brown and I did NOT like the car again. Not because of the colors, just how the colors presented the car to the eye.

I'd wait til the next gen. Personally, I'd get the new Cayenne S or Turbo if I needed the back seat

I chased a black Panamera 4s around the track recently. For some reason the looks really grew on me then. It just looks better at a full hustle.

That thing is FAST! It was pulling away from me in most of the corners. Too heavy to stay in front for long but for a 4 door luxury sedan it was impressive.
