Wich is according to you the best solution, that which stops the dust, which lets pass less hot air and which rather easy to place, a small summary would be welcome.
Thanks a lot.

You have to clean and oil the reusable (KN) type filters. There is the possibility of too much oil causing problem w MAF sensor affecting performance and maybe check engine light. Too little oil and you have a very ineffective filter. They pass more air and more dirt as per independent tests (No I don't remebber where I saw the comparo. sorry). They have less access to cold air than factory setup has. Horsepower gain if any is negligible. Imo, better to throw out the filter and replace using a factory part at set intervals or upon inspection. Those who love machines or want to protect their investment will understand this. Others, well, varoommm it is

I am on ordering a second filter and have it on hand for replacement when needed. Then I can patently recharge the other and let it dry accordingly. This should reduce the possibility of recharging incorrectly. My kids have been doing this for their cars (Scion, Genesis, Mini, Frontier) forever and we have never had a problem. I did use the Stock Replacement Filter type on a 528i and a QX45 , but never saw a difference.
