Just when you think the turbo cant get any faster (997.1). Every new iteration just blows me away. In ten years it will do 0-60 in 1.9 secs.

The ferocity of the Turbo S launch when it goes against the GT-R in that last video is simply staggering... Unbelievable!

 

Don't know if many others have experienced a full launch control launch in a stock turbo. Funny, it didn't look like a launch control launch because the taillights flash when you use launch control. I got back from the Porsche school a couple of weeks ago and got to experience it from the passenger seat and from the street. The acceleration is savage. Never experienced anything like it. I just couldn't imagine ever using it on the street. The
Car roars as all four wheels fight for traction. 0-60 in 3 seconds is to be experienced! The S may be faster, but i have to ask, what's the point?

 

The Turbo s is beautiful . It will not only beat a stock 997.1tt but even a Gt2 in straight line. What is most impressive with the 997.2tt is how well PDK maintains boost while shifting . The efficiency is awesome

However -
-a highly modded 997.1tt and even a highly modded 996tt can beat it . Plus the new car can be modified but not to the same level as the older gt1 engine cars. .

 

Ryem3 -What do you mean “what's the point”? The Turbo has always had a special place on the streets and now it just got better. And yes you can many mods to other models (yrralis1), but this is STOCK. Once again king of the road. I’m am sure any one of us would trade what we got for the Turbo S.

 

Quick note: I checked to videos and the lights seem to be flashing on all except the one with just the guages and that one also seems to be using launch control.

that launch against the gtr was amazing. i think with a few tweaks it can be side by side with a veyron even. the numbers are getting very close to that 2.5 0-60.
