BTW I find generally that the non-manufacturer-associated "luxury car" dealers are particularly shady.

They get a lot of their cars at auction (often lease returns) and while some of the cars are in good shape, others are not, but the dealers will tell you all their cars are great, and generally be belligerent and tell you how great their "reputation" is and they wouldn't sell a car if it wasn't clean, blah blah blah.

If possible, I personally would prefer to buy from a Porsche dealer with CPO or from a private owner that I can tell has treated the car well.

That's not to say you should never buy from one of these non-associated dealers, just be extra careful with them.

Seems the car has a story, and the dealer doesn't want you to find out.

Even if that car was perfect, it's only worth $42K, not $52K.

Seems a little pricy, that's a lot of money to have reservations and a sketchy seller.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all info!

I ended up not going with the 06 C4S in DC. I just wasn't sure what was going on and decided not to take a chance.

There is a silver lining to all this I guess... I was on vacation this past week visiting my brother-in-law and found my new baby.

My brother-in-laws uncle owns a dealership and they were able to find me my 2008 C4S Black/Red!

It all happened so fast... saw the car, test drove it, had it checked out, blah blah blah, flew back home to get MASS registration (and boy is it annoying to buy a car out of state when you live in MASS).

Its being delivered to my garage next week!!!

Weeeeee!

Like many others I was REALLY intent on buying an 09 PDK, but the price on this and having it handled by my brother-in-law and his family made me feel like I should not pass it up even if its the old Tip and not PDK.

When I get it home Ill post some pics .

Thanks again guys!
