I went to a meeting at the fairly upscale Rennaisance Hotel in Plantation Florida this morning. At 9:45 AM I parked alongside this frightful sight. At least it seems to be a very surgically performed theft, no apparant damage to vehicle other than the obvious.

Reminds me of an incident that happened to me in 1987 in Manhattan. Parked a Suzuki GSXR-1100 in front of a friends apt on the second floor of the upper east side. I happened to look outside at the exact time two guys were "slap hammering" the ignition out. I raced downstairs and, after a five block chase, one of the individuals was transported to Bellevue Hospital for some head shaving and stiching. The attempted grand theft charges were dropped to "disorderly conduct" which is basically nothing. The poor, young 19 year old fellow I caught, 6'3, 230 had no priors. Ah, the good old days, now Id yell and scare the guys away!!!..................................Be safe and be aware of where you park and your surroundings..................

I feel terrible for that guy. My old car was broken into twice and it's a horrible feeling. It's crazy that it happened in front of a hotel!

 

If some one wants it bad enough, they will find a way to get it.

 

that happened to a friend of mine last week with his new maxima. Apparently its common with Maxima wheels and the insurance guy told him that he's the 4 maxima owner this week that has had the same thing happen. Crazy

 

Why would thieves take the time to put the car on "blocks" after taking the wheels?

 

Because if you don't put blocks in there, you can't get the jack under the car to get the other wheels off.

Really bad feeling! Had my head lights stolen a few months ago and not good. On the comical side, it’s kind of LOL. Just a piece of metal that can be replaced.

 

at least it was rental car, but still those people should be shot
