Car caught my eye-2008 C2S-thoughts?
Mine is a 2008 C2 with 30k miles, black/black, have been very happy with it, have made a few minor upgrades (gundo hack, Fabspeed intake, etc).
Yesterday unexpectedly looking at a 2008 C2S with 11k miles:
arctic silver/black std leather with nav, Bose, crest in headrests
3M film front bumper and over 1/2 hood
stock exhaust (shame)
stock Carrera S wheels (which I'm not a big fan of personally-those would have to be changed out)
spotless, coming off 3 yr lease, no blemishes whatsoever. Can tell it was well taken care of...
Certified, for $70k is their asking price. Nice finance rate at 1.9 or 2.9%. My monthly payment would end up similar to what I have now.
AND:
2007 C2S, 13800 miles, midnight blue with beige leather - adaptive sport seats (which I love)
Bose, sport shifter (no navigation)
19" turbo rims
Rear quarter panel has a dime-sized gash in it by the wheel well- which is tough for me to accept. Beautiful color though, but looks a little more worn (scratches on hood, etc.)
Certified for $64k.
Thoughts ? My payment would be about same, so is it really worth stepping up to C2S with these older models ?

I see you already have an 08 C2... I really dont think its worth the extra $ at this point to step into an "S"... If I were you I would wait and maybe look at GT3's or TT's.... Prices are falling fast on both.

The main difference between S and standard would be power and sound.
Between the 2 cars, the first would be my preference.
Personally, what would you want to get out of the upgrade? If you aren't craving more power, I would wait to upgrade to something more significantly better. Keep in mind that although your payment is same, the term is different.
I would personally either go to GT3 or Turbo (if you need back seats). Or maybe wait a year for the next gen 911.

Yes, agree with above points. Also, with the 08 C2S, if you switch the wheels out, you're looking at $5k for forged wheels/tires minimum - add that to the purchase price. If you're really happy with your 08 C2, why not just forgo the S car and just spend a couple K on wheels and you'll get a fresh new look. You already have Nav, you already put in $ for the Gundo Hack...
Plus I agree, $70k is too high for an 08. Heck I got my 09 C4 NEW for just over $70k and with the DFI engine, HP wise, it's pretty equivalent to the 997.1 S cars. If you really want power increase - I agree with the others - I would go looking for a nice used TT...! And that 07 - you already can't stand the thought of the gash in the panel, forget that one.

For reference I picked up an '09' S CPO'd till Sep '15' with 12k on the odo for $72k this past Nov. I think I would pass on the noted two above.
If you'd like to see what a wheel upgrade would do for your car let me know. I'll have a set of ForgeLine GA3s on the car in a few weeks.

This is crazy talk
I've been called crazy myself, however, so I feel I can dish it out too.

Thanks for the feedback...yes wheels are expensive, and truthfully I like my wheels better than the ones on that S car. Sounds like a more fair price might be in the $65k ballpark for the arctic silver one...and I forgot the 08 C2S has 355 hp, not 385. I agree, not sure it's worth it.
I'll add one thing from personal experience - going from all black to GT silver was an unexpected benefit.
Black looks great when clean - but wow - it's tough to keep that way. I can drive my GT silver car far longer between washes - and the PCCBs keep the wheels clean.
I went from a c2 (996) to a 2007 tt. Two vastly different cars.
