Softronic, FVD or GIAC?
Too many choices.......I have AWE Mufflers, long tube headers (custom but similar to Fabspeed) and an ITG Air Filter.
Which software do I choose?

Agree with this. If you really have to have an ecu tune then go with EVOMS and maybe GIAC next. I have softronic and felt it was my most insignificant mod.
You're right...
So maybe I will forget about the software. I'll just go with the IPD Plenum and call it quits and concentrate on driving instead of more bloody mods!!
Giac here, dyno bw stock and pump with cai and ipd show 12 hp at the crank, I do feel the diff too

I have also come to understand that regardless of the tuning company, if your Porsche dealer wants to be difficult, it is not hard to read out in PIWIS that someone has tampered with the ecu program, even a softronic.
Just a thought and a caution. It really does comes down to frito lay or Utz as preferences in chips, the reversibility thing is just marketing.
I have a tangential observation then, if you had GIAC first, then ostensibly your "stock" map was over-written by the GIAC; as you were not happy with it (why?) then you got the Softronic, which supposedly "retains" your default program, so you can re-write it whenever; so in your case the default program saved by Softronic for you to revert to is in reality the "stock" GIAC mapping, not the factory version wiped out by your original GIAC purchase.

As for it being just marketing, it maybe, but when your software comes via email, your original extracted file also comes with it. I don't have access to a PIWIS so I can't tell you if it is possible to see the changes or not.
Don't know if it is still true, but as of a couple of years ago with GIAC you did not have to pull your ECU and mail it in for the flash. Also, because of this, if you used a good tuner he would run the car and tweak it as necessary to meet whatever parameters you or he were seeking.
