The whole experience was just awesome

The teams were great, they did not mind you being in the garage 3ft away from them working, the drivers treated you like gold and were happy to talk to you, and the other spectators very often were willing to share what ever they were grilling or drinking. This was my first event like this but will not be my last...... I'm hooked

It was an interesting set up for us Porsche people this year. The parking corral was actually a free 'mini' Porsche Platz with tent and that Sweetie area rep Jennifer in charge. It was located just before RC turn 5 ( the West horseshoe ). Another "first" was that Porsche NA had a large floored tent set up roughly in the middle of the infield. This was open 8 to 8 Sat and 8-5 Sun to anyone with $50 and included food, beer, wine, TV monitors, driving simulators, etc. Actually a hell of a deal since with the normal vendor gouge 50 bucks would have bought you 4 beers and 5 hotdogs over the 2 days.

Overall not the hottest cars like ALMS but a great opportunity to watch many of the best sport's car drivers in the world. One last plus is that Daytona Beach has enough hotel rooms that availability is good for this weekend.

Tourb...surprised we did not run into each other. I was all over Daytona on Saturday. Hung out int he garage area and near the pits. Yep the teams and drivers are very welcoming especially with the amount of stress they are under for this race. You need to drive over to Sebring for the 12hr in March. Same kind of deal but more expensive race cars and some higher technology.

tejoe, I tried to get into the PCNA Hospitality tent and was not allowed....showed them my PCA membership, PCA Instructors card and even my Porsche car keys....nope not allowed in. The $50 deal was not even brought up and to top it off the guy and girl working the door were very rude about it too.
