Looking for a 997.2 CPO

I know there are a few of you on this board with your finger very much on the pulse when it comes to cars and their prices so I was hoping you could help me seek out a car.

I'm looking for an 09/10 C2S, preferably CPO'd or one that can be for $70-72k tops. None of my local dealers have any unfortunately but I'm willing to travel for the right one. Am I being unrealistic to get one for this price or am I in a fairly good bracket here?

I'm not fussed on color but there are a couple of options that I'd like. It has to be PDK and therefore would be best with the SC+ (I can retrofit but I'd rather not) and I'd love nav + full leather interior. The rest of the options are kinda moot, i'll take them if they're there but not really deal breakers. I have a set of HRE P40's too so the wheels are irrelevant.

Thanks (this isn't some cop out so that I don't have to look, it just seems that some of you are really good at this!!)

Dave

Dave,

There's a guy on rennlist with a gorgeous blue 09 C2S. It's in the 997 section with 09 997 for sale in the title. If I hadn't purchased my 09 last October this one would be in my garage.

If you can't find it send me a PM or email.

Don't give me a call, I don't have anything to sell Dave, unless he wants a 1:32 scale model of a Porsche CGT

Here is the link, TooSixty is his userid.

Its funny you all mention TooSixy's car. I had actually messaged him prior to this thread since he and I have had dealings before and he's actually local to me!

His car is perfect in terms of spec but unfortunately $75k is out of my price range, especially since I'd want to pass it through my dealer to have it CPO'd. Awesome car, just $5k too much!

I was thinking along the same lines when I passed on a perfect 07 GT3. Now that I have the 09 S I've been thinking of a few mods. I added those up and it takes the 09 over the cost of the GT3.

Sometimes it pays to spend a bit more up front.

However, I do admire that you are sticking to your budget.

If you do a search I bet you can find at least 4 of the green cars with PDK and all with low miles. It's an interesting color combo. I would be a bit concerned about resale down the road. A little limiting on market.

Well my search has been pretty fruitless so far. Toosixy's car is perfect but it's just above what I can afford by about $5k since I'd need it CPO'd.

I've got a possible lead on a blue C2S with 10k miles that might pan out for low $70's but we'll have to see.

I've been toying with alternatives too, perhaps going to a 2011 M3 with the ZCP pack but I've not had the chance to drive one yet.

Am I mad for considering a 2011/12 GT500 and modding it up a bit? A few grand puts me in the 700hp range and yet remains a fairly civil daily car. Not to mention the whole package comes in at quite a saving over the M3.

I'm in no rush, just considering options, any and all!

Market Top is infamous around these parts
OP: I'm on the same search (for some time now) but there is not much well-sorted inventory out there. I am looking for an 2009 C2S / C4S since its the first year for PDK and except for the green/beige launch car, which I do not want, its pretty slim pickins. However, at the retail level, those dealers that actually want to SELL what inventory they do have are going for about $70 for C2S and low $80's for C4S (< 10k miles fully loaded with SC). What I have found is that many dealers are perfectly happy to put either one of those for sale at $5-$8k higher than that to see if they will sell (and sometimes they do) but most sit there for a few weeks and the prices slowly begins to drop. I'm hopeful that March/April we will get 2y leases expiring and inventory will begin to pick up (this is will by my DD and third car so I can afford to wait). BTW, I fully realize dealers are in this business to make money - and I am fine with that - but am unwilling to overpay. I have purchased many cars in my time and am willing to accept the "normal" depreciation that comes with owning, but no reason to overpay when time is on my side. Guess I'm just tired of dealers taking a hard line with me at trade in time.... "sorry pal, thats all it worth". Purchase price is the only variable I can control.

That said, TooSixy's car is the bomb and will make someone a very happy owner.
