GTS or 993TT?
GTS or 993TT?
Looking for opinions on this. All taken with a grain of salt so no offense taken.
I know these are somewhat apples & oranges but here goes:
First, know my habit lately is to get bored & change cars often.
I have a chance to get a pretty good deal on a new GTS right now spec'd the way I want it or a 96 unique TT with some Ruf goodies.
Price gap is not my struggle.
The TT's seems to be holding its value, the GTS I'm sure will take a hit even at my discount naturally.I'm leaning towards the TT for the next year or so as it seems there will be plenty of GTS' around as well as new gen (which right now I dont much care about). If I get bored or dont like the TT, the GTS will probably be out there either new & cheaper or CPO'd.
Another thing- I dont nor wont pay cash so finanicng is a bit trickier on the 993 & I dont think rates will stay this good forever. I also tend to dig the latest technology, pdk, satnav etc.

get 993TT now, then next year can either trade it for lightly used GTS, or see if you like the new 991.

Really depends how you plan to use the car. The 993 is closer to a special car (weekend, third car, etc.), while the GTS can be a DD. Of course you could DD the 993, but that would sinful.
FWIW, I have the best of both and love it. A 997S cab which is a near-DD, and a 1988 Turbo which is a very special rare-use car. Love 'em both.
So, unless it's a DD role, I would have no hesitation to go with the 993TT (wow, what a great car).

I would pick the 993TT with the Ruf goodies. The 993TT is already unique in itself, as well as the last of the air-cooled Porsche. Add it up with the Ruf goodies, and you get a bit more unique and exclusive. If you don't like it, the 993TT will hold its value well and you can trade it in for something else later, but why would you that

Very different cars in just about every way . why not just get both ?
That would be ideal, and someday that's the plan- a modern 911 with all of todays goodies to DD and a special one to drive on occasion. Can't swing that yet.
If I got the 993tt, it wouldn't be a DD. The GTS probably would be, which may not be totally practical for me but I'm sure Ill adapt. As one who flips out of cars often, I guess I'm trying to minimize my future loss for this addiction.

back. Leanin towered the 993 as it seems the GTS will always be there.
