V-man is infamous around these parts
Mod guys help! Me please!

I can afford my first mod. I decided on an exhaust. I worked it down to either a Tubi street or FVD loud street both with 200 cells. I posted to find members where i can hear them live in my area. No luck. My dealer, also the closest to my home, reps Champion so he does TUBI installed 5000 grand. The next nearest dealer reps FVD or strongly recommends them installed at 6200. I know i can not stand my current exhaust and feel anything will be better. I travel all the time for work. I want to get my car in the shop and get the job done. You guys are the smartest of the smart. Guide this grasshopper with your wisdom. Oh and all the dealer guys are full of unknowingness if that is a word.

try looking at Agency Power , an exhaust system is just passive tubing for gasses to exit the engine. Most all the exhaust manufacturers have good designs for the proper flow. Most all use the same stainless materials.
I dont understand the attraction to the extreemly expensive brands. I have used agency on porsches and love it. Most are very reasonable and sound great.

*** Just as I posted this i saw yo drive a Turbo! In that case, disregard the below... and get on the right board man!

v-man, muffler sound is totally subjective and the videos are of very limited use given cold starts, recording distances and types, etc. ask 10 guys on this board what they like and you'll get 10 different answers. i think u were on the right track trying to hear them in person -- that's the only reliable method.

that said, u rarely if ever hear a bad word about the AWE 200 cells, and they also produce decent power, so that's a great start. beyond that, you get wild differences of opinion on how they sound mixed with tubi, which were designed to be used with stock cats.

i started with fabspeed (and stock cats) and didn't like them at all. drone at lower RPMs and barely louder on high RPMs. i then tried gundo mufflers. very good sound but not quit loud enough for me. now, combined with the AWE cats, the sound is fantastic.

my advice: start with the 200 cells and see how you like them. it will be about 50% louder and throatier too, which may be enough for you. if it's not, i'd give the gundos a try. if you're going to go by trial and error, better to do it with $300 mufflers than thousands. i think $5k+ is insane for a muffler and cat system you haven't heard in person. none of the mufflers produce significant power anyway. worse case you take them off and go with something pricier.
