i did this mod a couple years ago.

when i recentley removed the airbox i noticed that the plastic cap i used became very brittle and was falling apart. Probably due to heat cycles.

anyway i got rid of it. the exhaust is so loud now anyway that the intake sound was not really noticeable anymore.
