Window not going back up after door close

Seems like everything is going wrong on my car at once. Anyway, the window goes down a half inch when you open the door and for some reason, it will not go back up after I close the door now. Anyone know anything regarding this issue? Thanks

This has on occasion happened to me several times too... dealer took care of it. The windows would occasionally not go up fully, but whenever I put the drive selector into D it will go up... weird.

Thanks. In the span of a weekend, rain sensor went bad, battery is bad and now the window issue!

assuming you're car is 2008 and its only 2011... you still under warranty? Even if your out of warranty but only just recently, i'm sure you can ask the dealers to do a in-kind warranty service for you?

My P-dealer in fairfield is top notch in providing warranty work, never once was my request denied. It couldn't hurt to try

it's a CPO as well, but just a pain in the a.. to get to the dealer. However, it's going to have to go after I have the battery fixed locally.

I always hate to ask the obvious. I'm sure you've already done this, but someone has to say it: if you brush the window switch while opening the door, the gapping logic requires a reset before it will work again. It 'assumes' you wanted that slightly different position you achieved by brushing the switch, so it leaves the window that way. The slightest touch of the window switch disables the gap logic completely.

If you haven't done this before, a reset is simple. Just close the door (after getting in, that is) and raise the window yourself. Next time you open the door, the window will open to that shallow gap to clear the rubber seal, and when you close the door it will lift properly and remove the gap.

Unless something is broken. Which I'm sure it is because I'm sure you already tried a reset.

Nope not obvious to me anyway. The car isn't here with me, but I was told even after you get in the car with the key in, the window will not go all the way up. I will try this reset though.

Your battery was fully discharged right? Please check you Owners Manual, where you will find the proper window reset procedure. Something like this:

Tow truck from Porsche fixed this one, so thank you. I had a few reasons to bring it in and I'm not so sure it's the battery now. It may be the starter because at times, the car starts right up.

I just had the same issue with my driver side window. It turned out to be a problem with a hidden microswitch that's located behind the door pull. Once you're in the car, if you slightly move the door pull it may reset the switch and pop the window back up. Or you can manually push the switch once you've found it.
