I like the new SLK55 and the new chassis has received fantastic reviews but it still is an automatic convertible, which wasn't what most of us are/were looking for when we bought our 997.

Nice car though.

 

With these numbers against the coupe (was it manual or tip?) it will KILL a tip cab!!

 

i wouldnt be surprised if it would kill a 997S on the highway

 

the automatic "sports car" still curbs out at 3400 lbs and requires a skirt to drive it. and, stay away from the corners - at least at 997S *****.

how much is the price difference? I believe that the S costs more. SLK is a girls car though, but I like it...

 

I had a little run in with an sl55 AMG on the highway. He was in front of me by about 3 car lengths and nailed it, so I took off after him, and I caught up and got next him, and I looked at the speedo and was just about over 140. Next run I was able to get in front of him and I naled it, and he tailed me but couldn't close the gap. I thought I would get my a$$ handed to me for sure, but I must say the 997s held its own.
