Certainly not what I'm looking for. It would be nice to have a local group that enjoys taking rides, talking about cars, having lunch, etc. while being safe and having fun. Driving 100 on a public road not my thing.

Every Wednesday night in the summer there's a car show/gathering at Bear Mountain park, right at the top of the Palisades Parkway. It's everything from classic muscle cars, motorcycles, and hot rods, to imports and exotics.

It's a really family oriented thing, they have BBQ food, stuff for the kids, and even bands sometimes. Definitely a nice drive and a worthwhile event to check out.

Seven Lakes Drive up to Bear Mountain is very nice. Don't go nuts, but at least it is a nice windy road with trees, lakes, etc. Check it out.

Below may be of interest to you too.

Twice a month on a Saturday or Sunday(rotates) there have been Cars and Croissants in Chatham.

Location: Parking lot of the Woodland Bakery, 650 Shunpike Road, Chatham, NJ 07928
A few requests:
1) Please do not park in the first row of parking spaces on the right as you enter the parking lot
2) Please obey all posted parking signs and, especially, leave any handicapped spots open for those who may need them;
3) Please do not lay down any rubber when leaving the parking lot!
Time: 8:30 - 11:00AM (We have noticed that parking lot now starts to fill up with shoppers after 11AM; a fixed end time will hopefully reduce crowding for both groups).

It's New York SR97....just a few miles north of Port Jervis. Here's some more info...

Hawk's Nest, SR97

1. Bear Mountain. Just take the Palisades Pkwy North until you get to the end. From there, take your pick. The scenery is awesome and the roads are smooth and twisty!

2. Hawks Nest. Pretty much right at the NY/NY/PA corner where all three states meet. Even car manufacturers like Porsche and BMW have used this legendary road to film commercials.

Here's a couple pictures to give you an idea:

I did the Bear Mountain drive from Hoboken, but I think I went into the park and didn't hit the entire road as you have here. It was still a lot of fun and an easy ride. My stupid NAV brought me back over the GW coming back, so I have to figure out how to return another way but overall a good trip.
