Techart is arguably one the most "OEM friendly" tuners for our cars. Which I'm sure was one of the reasons you went for them. That definitely doesn't look right. You shouldn't accept anything other than a perfect fit. Good luck. Love the car!

Ohhhh, that does not look right. My fit is extremely tight and I agree with silver329 above in that TA are supposedly designed and built the best (that's why they cost so much). I think your body shop needs some lessons in installation.

thats the first time i used this shop.. and it will def be my last !

to be fair, tho, i bought the sides used and there were no hardware that came with it. Now i am wondering if i am missing some parts ??

i've contacted Vincent from CEC and he has been very helpful and always answers back promptly. Almost makes me wish i can buy something from him.. i m sure in the future, i will !

IF they are fibreglass....then they are NOT real Techarts, they are knock-offs!
Techart stuff is made of the same type of material as your bumpers and is some-what flexible!...

A solution IF they are fibreglass....you could have a body shop fill them to fit?!What they will do is apply masking tape to the car (to protect the area in need of better fitment),use some type of filler and repaint.A PAIN...YES...but better than that!
That is unacceptable IMO...sorry!

AND for the record....the Techart sides I once had......FIT perfect!

not sure about fiberglass.. i thought i read that somewhere that TA were made with fiberglass..

its flexible.. but i don't think its polyurethane.. it holds its shape very well.

the bodyshop said they can re-do using some sort of filler (i forgot the name) to make it completely flush.. they said it will take 4 days

but the part is 100% TA.. no doubt

When this thread started and you sent me a PM,I thought you were looking for some sympathy hand-out,LOL ......I thought you were going to try to get me to send you a set of my side skirts....

Back on topic......I think somewhere along the way when the skirts were prepped(by your shop, the previous shop or a combination of both)....they must have sanded them too much causing the fit to be off.Because Techart stuff IS the best...which is why you see so many shops copy their stuff!

Like I said...your body shop will use a flexible putty and make them fit better.......so THAT is good news!
BUT,in the shops defence, you did tell them that the skirts fit perfect, which is why they were probably NOT trial fitting them.......so IF the paint looked good....give them another shot at it!
NOW hurry up and get a front lip,LOL!
OH and by the way....I have a Techart rear diffuser I could sell you!?

Cheers,

Stacy

I just put on the same kit by TA and yes I had the same problem but it's an easy fix. I used crazy glue. I thought about the paint if I take it apart but it look damn good so I didn't care. My two other friends who also have TA kit and experienced the same problem.

I have the GT3TEK side skirts. Polyurethane and fit like gloves. Fraction of the cost.

Hey Tracy long time no see

OK I totally agree, TA's are made of poly.

Carlitos it's possible they're doing a poly/CF (certainly no FBGLS) mix now 'cause the poly ones where a bit too soft however because of their softness they pulled in nice and snug to the body once the ends where attached.

However judging from where the gap is, it could also be you've got the skirts for a wide body, can't tell from the pics but it sorta looks like you've got the narrow body.

If that's the case get them to send you a new pair PAINTED

Good luck!

Sid.
