997 Aerokit released .......

For reduced turbulence at high speed

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, now offers a new customisation package for the Coupé versions of the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera S. The “Aerokit Cup“ consists of a front bumper with an integrated spoiler and a rear lid featuring a spoiler and a rigidly mounted biplane rear wing.

Besides its distinctive presence on the road, the new Aerokit Cup provides a further improved driving stability at high speed for an even more balanced and exhilarating drive. This is possible thanks to the reduction of uplift at the front axle and the generation of downforce on the rear axle. The Aerokit Cup was designed in close cooperation with the Porsche motorsport department and closely resembles the shape of the new racing sportscar dubbed 911 GT3 Cup.

Designing the Aerokit Cup, Porsche succeeded in a task which is considered almost impossible in motorsport: the excellent drag coefficient of the 911 Carrera Coupé and the 911 Carrera S Coupé remains unchanged even with the enlarged front spoiler and rear wing.

Porsche offers the Aerokit Cup worldwide. In the USA it can be ordered at Porsche Exclusive with the new car or at Porsche Tequipment as an aftermarket accessory at a recommended price (MSRP) of $US6,990.

Personally - I like the standard 997 with the Carbon Cargraphic lip much better than this

It looks like the lower lip is a separate piece so after it get scratched/damaged it can easily be taken off and repainted/replaced.
