Internet Scam
Internet Scam
Wasn't exactly sure where to post this but I came across an internet scam when looking at purchasing this vehicle:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listin gId=64544488&listingRecNum=1&criteria=prMx%3D55000 %26sf1Dir%3DDESC%26prMn%3D0%26mkId%3D20081%26stkTy p%3DU%26mdId%3D20567%26rd%3D100000%26crSrtFlds%3Ds tkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-pseudoPrice-yrId%26zc%3D92101%26rn%3D0%26PMmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf2Dir%3DASC%26sf1Nm%3Dpric e%26yrId%3D20201%26sf2Nm%3Dmiles%26rpp%3D50%26feed SegId%3D28705&aff=national
When I asked for the VIN, 3x, he ignored that request and gave me the" we can do this without me present because I am a cargo pilot and my wife needs a liver transplant.....and I will ship anywhere if you go to google escrow and wire transfer 50%...bla bla bla"
Also the vehicle and him are now in Miami....cuz his wife is waiting for a liver transplant
So if you see this vehicle or one similar be careful.
He goes by Michael Corr and his email addresses are ammx456g@msn.com
and amm4gx@me.com
didn't even try the phone number:
325-455-1537
Cheers
Sean

This is the fake Google website he wanted me to sign up for:
http://google.checkout.com.auto.escrow-ltd.net/
At first glance, looks pretty legit. I can see where some could be fooled.

Thanks for posting. Another more common and believable scam is when they have no sob story but want you to use an escrow account for a seamless and safe transaction. Escrow accounts are bogus and once the money is sent it's bye bye.

no not the turbo. 2009 is the last tiptronic for turbo.
The link didn't work so I was unable to view anything.
I don't feel its really up to an internet community to get involved in this type of drama . If the original poster felt this was a criminal scam then the website where the ad is displayed as well as the authorties are the better route (over having individual car owners play amateur detectives) .

My only intent was to make the "internet community" aware of the situation....so that nobody falls for this crap and I did report it to the cars.com fraud department. Admin disabled the link.
