it lasts about 4 yrs. i'm at 4.5 yrs now and still going strong though (my car is low miles for its age -- 9.5k). i would wait until it goes dead.

also, i was at the track this weekend and putting air in my tires before heading out on the first session, i compared the pressure from the TPMS against my manual gauge. the TPMS was pretty inacurate (3-4lbs off on any given wheel). my instructor told me the older gen TPMS were known for being inacurate. so, you might consider just going without it and buying a gauge.

Mine lasted about 5 years. I had just put new rears on so I didn't bother to replace them but might next tire change. Otherwise you have the warning indicator on the dash and it beeps after 30 minutes. It's not very accurate but does give you an idea of where things are.

b2sc is infamous around these parts
Just this past week, I'm having TPMS issues w/my '07 C2S. I get warnings in the center display that tire pressure is low, yet all check fine w/a gauge and read in range on the TPMS display.

Other times, a tire may read low through the TPMS, and tell me to add air, but checks good w/a gauge.

I called my dealer and left a message about bringing it in. Will these be covered under my CPO warranty? Tires were changed out when the car was CPO'd 6 mos ago..

mine was not covered under CPO and I was told there are two types of CPO and that I have the more comprehensive one.

I'm in the process of buying some new wheels which are not coming with sensors. I was thinking about removing my old TPMS and installing them on my new wheels (from 07 Turbo wheels) but it sounds like I might be better off just buying some new ones?? They don't have replaceable batteries??

Unfortunately you can't replace the batteries. Depending on the labor cost of replacing the sensors later it might make sense to get a new set now.

AFAIK, only one type of Porsche CPO. You should have received the CPO paperwork on purchase and I don't believe there are two versions.

If I don't install the TPMS in the wheels, do I get faults?

Yes - you'll get an error message.
