It will give you an idea how to remove it. Remove the small plugs facing the driver seat and use a 5mm allen wrench and just loosen the bolts( through the wholes that were covered by the plugs) that keep the sill in place , don't need to take them out! Then just pull the sill up.

If you are not electronically "inclined" (familiar with a multi-meter and soldering) don't waste your time! For $62 you can get a new sill and the switch. 5 minute fix!

Vlad
New sill and switch costs $ 195, switch alone is $ 75. Both priced at Suncoast. Tell me where I can Get both for $ 62 and I'll place my order today.

carlosah is infamous around these parts
Sorry to revive this post, but just had to replace mine and thought some pictures were needed to help the next one in need.

I took the scuff plate out as I wanted to Plastidip mine and found is way easier to take the whole thing off.

Here is the step by step.

1. Removed the 2 caps facing the driver's seat.
2. Insert a #5 allen wrench (can't be missed when inserted, it feels perfectly when settles in the socket. No need to remove all the way, just a couple of turns and that should be enough. I removed completely, but no big deal. They can be easily screwed back in after the plate is removed. IMPORTANT STEP AT RE-ASSEMBLING TIME!!!!!)
3. Slowly start prying up the plate. (See the pictures to get idea where snap-on anchors are located. No need to be afraid, just pry evenly across the plate.
4. Disconnect the plug off the switch.
5. The switch assembly is easy to pry off the plate. Common sense!

I hope this makes it easier on others in the future!

Red circles show snap-on anchors location. Pry straight up evenly across the plate.

Here is the plate tabs that slide in the 2 allen bolts. Used #5 allen wrench.

Here is the switch plug.

This is with the plate removed to show what to expect to see inside.
