Trunk lid switch ?
Yes it does..
Thanks, I will give him a call tomorrow, but before that I will take it apart and see if I can fix it..
Will post you.
One of the wires on the circuit board had a bad connection so i just re-solder it.
I put a bit of dialectric grease around it, works like a champ. If you need the details, I would be happy to help.

I took the door sill off and the took the switch apart. It showed some corrosion on the contacts. It's a bad design because if you get any water from the rain on the switch, the water goes right in and over the switch.

It will give you an idea how to remove it. Remove the small plugs facing the driver seat and use a 5mm allen wrench and just loosen the bolts( through the wholes that were covered by the plugs) that keep the sill in place , don't need to take them out! Then just pull the sill up.
If you are not electronically "inclined" (familiar with a multi-meter and soldering) don't waste your time! For $62 you can get a new sill and the switch. 5 minute fix!

I took mine apart. Aside from a bunch of green corrosion which easily wiped clean, the contact pad is what look fried. Ordered a new one from Suncoast. Hopefully this cures it. Thanks for the help.

I have a 2006 911 cab, only 44 000 kilometers.
My engine lid will randomly open with the key in the ignition and even when I'm driving sometimes...I literally have to get out of my car and shut the engine lid while the engine is running and sometimes have to repeat this 4-5 times before it stays closed.
The thing is if I try and manually open the engine lid with the switch near the driver seat, nothing happens....
I'm guessing this is due to a faulty trunk switch assembly? All of this started to happen the day after we had the biggest snowstorm in recent years. I guess maybe some snow went into the trunk switch mechanism?

When I try and open either the front trunk or the engine lid manually with the trunk switch nothing happens.
The only way that the engine lid will open is randomly by itself...lol....
