2008 Targa4S vs. 2009 C2S

There are a few I'm looking at - here's the 2009:

http://www.porscheofannapolis.com/pr...99542/info.php

Getting good trade-in offer as well. What do you think about price ? Seems pretty close to me.

There are two Targa4S's I'm looking at - priced pretty similar - one black, one Arctic silver - a Targa would be sweet but less power but you get added stability of AWD.

Thoughts ? Appeal of 385 hp could be too hard to pass up.

I love GT Silver too - may favorite color I think.

I would go for the C2S all the way. Targa adds a lot of weight, plus the '09 has the better interior and engine...

The C2S for me. It's got the new engine, better electronics, etc. Plus, I personally don't care for the modern interpretation of a targa and don't need AWD.

It's priced a bit high, but is CPO. If they would come down about 10%, it would be a great deal.

You have to ask yourself - is it worth my car and an additional $xx to get this new one? If so, and you have the cash, go for it!

C2S. The only thing the Targa has going for it is WB. The 09 C2S has more power, updated DFI engine, updated interior, PCM, etc.

As for price, this one is fairly heavily optioned, so the original MSRP was probably around $100K or so. I would think that you can do a little better on the price, so I'd work them on that. But I'd leave the Targa for someone else.

It's really about what kind of driving you'll (really) do, and what speaks to you.
There are a lot of modders and exclusive performance enthusiasts on this site - a big part of what makes it great - for whom the Targa isn't a first choice.
For me, the 121 pounds of additional weight isn't a deal killer, and the 4 wheel drive is terrific. I love the looks, the sound, the feel, and even the practicality of the Targa.
Love, love love driving that car.
The GT Silver is really really beautiful. My choice as well.
As they say, your mileage may vary.
Good luck with your decision.

Yeah, the targa would be nice, as would the AWD. There isn't much price difference...warranty a little longer on the 2009, obviously. How much total weight does the Targa4S add over a std Carrera ? About 250-300 lbs ?

Targa is the best model they make. There's nothing else like it on the market.

I like the silver 09 car . There's an 09 listed in Florida asking 74K with CPO and it has the PDK .

I think these cars in this high used market are worth 70 in private party but a dealership might get low to mid 70's.

My general tule -- anything over 70K ought to be new or a Turbo but if this is yoir spending limit .. then the silver car looks very nice.

I agree with yrralis 1's general rule. Son of gun, one of these days he is for sure going to entice me into a turbo purchase and then I will certainly have to book my tickets to S. Florida just to give a nice spank for that.

If you're not going PDK and SC, I would just hold on to the 2008 and wait for the 991. You don't want buyer's remorse next year when you're jonesing to get into a 991 C2S IMO.
