Wing choice
i often pondered on the same thing.. since our cabs have a 'dual' look (top up/down).
its a dilemma.
I went through the same style and financial struggle myself. I own a cab as well and have modded it significantly but when it came to the wing, which I planned to purchase, I could not find enough details and clear photos of the ducktails (and others) that made me comfortable with the purchase.
Ultimately I realized that cabs and ducks (and any other type of wing) just don't go together. Technically they can't actually work when the top is down (as I keep mine almost all of the time) or so it seems to me, and it's mixing two 'looks' for the cab line of cars.
So I would say no to both, focus on other things, and enjoy the undisturbed shape of the cab.

duck on a cab
duck on a cab, turbo or a duck on a none cab IMO.... I have the TT on none cab and happy with it but if had a cab would have gone duck. That said days have passed that have I have debated swapping out for a duck.
In the end do what makes you happy....
Here is a fact, if you get the Duck you will ponder for years if it was the right call.... sames goes if you go with the Turbo wing.... it is a disease. many of us here have.

I'd leave it as the engineers at Porsche designed it. Everything they do is for a good reason.
Also, I personally dislike attempts to make something look like what it's not. Like putting a Rolex dial on a Timex, a GT3 or Turbo wing on a regular 911, etc. You want the original, buy it.
Of course, it's your car, so you can alter it in any way that makes you happy. You only have to look at the inside.

after all, variety is spice of life)and u should know that the Porsche engineers are not the ones running Porsche Co.
plus they are always butting heads with the sales dept and the accounting dept. lol.that's why Porsche offers more options on their cars than anyone else..
but i know what u r trying to say Doc. Thx.

comical
I always laugh when I see such posts.
Your example is poor.
Rolex dial on a Timex is trying to actually fake someone into believing something it is not and adding a small piece of X to a big piece of Y. (small amount of Rolex to a lot of Timex]) No one is asking about re-badging their car here adding a GT3 logo to civic....Your example would resonate better if dealing with a guy looking to add a Ferrari emblem on a kit car.
People have been modifying cars since they first hit the roads... your example attempts to cast a negative light on the same.
