Video from VIR 5/26/11 with Rezoom

Here is a video from VIR yesterday. This was my second time on the track with the Porsche. Only upgrade was pads...Stock tires were terrible.

Sorry for the delayed start.

That's a really nice vid. For the first one, I was surprised that the sound actually was more than a muffled roar through the whole thing (esp for an external cam, I think). I could hear some engine rev and tire squeal - nice! Sure looks like you can eat up the road really fast - thanks for sharing.

No. Check the host club rules, but little to nothing is needed wrt equipment. You usually need a tech inspection from the dealer or local shop, often with a brake fluid flush and fill.

How much does it cost per day?
Usually about $200-250, in the form of a $400-500 Sat-Sun

And is there a speed limit?
No. You might get to 150 or so on the right track with some experience!

Pretty much yes. Safety is stressed with point-by passing on the straights only, but people do wreck. Insurance is a mixed bag. Sometimes they pay, sometimes the driver pays it all out of pocket.

My car was completely stock the first time i went out with it. This time i just had a pad upgrade.

Go to motorsportreg.com and you can see a variety of different events and venues....

VIR is my favorite...great track and great facilities

My old car (88 M3 with swap motor) was a full on track car with a cage, harnesses etc...

Also, there are 3-4 different run groups based on experience and novices will be with an instructor in their car so you will most likely never be put into a situation that's unsafe.
