2009 S2 Cab
2009 S2 Cab
Just ran across a 2009 silver S2 cab with 900 miles. Not even broken in. Arctic Silver with red leather. Lots of options. Asking $89K...New List $118K. Sounds like with good bargaining skills this could be had for $84K? It's exactly the car I'm looking for. I'm super new to Porsche so I really don't know. What do you guys think? Bargin or average? 30 something off list with such little miles makes me want to see this thing.
Thoughts?
Thanks

I would not go near it . 900 miles on a 2-3 year old car ?
Let me guess .. it's not CPO ? it's not a Porsche dealership ? It's not a private owner ?
How many months do you think it sat in the shop?

90K is a lot of money . I'm not saying that the car is bad .. but at 90K it has to be great . There has to be no doubts . I have seen a lot of guys try and save 10K and in that process they forget about the other 90 that they are risking .

Larry brings up some good points..but I suggest you dont disregard the car all together. It means you need to do a little extra homework. Do a PPI (maybe even 2 indy places) and have the car checked out thoroughly. Maybe there is a reason it has so little miles.
My wifes A4 cab only had 2000 miles after 2 years when I purchased it. The owner had passed away and it sat in his garage while estate stuff was being taken care of.
I got a great deal and the car has been flawless.
Also...Porsche's May sales results were great. 50% increase over 2010 numbers. Great deals are harder to find.
Good luck
If the car is checked out the warranty becomes an issue: when did it start and where. The CarFax may only be partially helpful. A Cab in the northern climate may be a difficult sell but +2 yrs is awhile. Is it a pdk w/ sports chrono; any special adds ?
Getting a great deal is possible, but I'd push below $80k.

Just check it out thoroughly. When and where was it purchased? Try to find dealership who sold the car to provide service records. Car fax, PPI, Paint meter it, ask to contact the original owner, do your home work and ask alot of questions. Good luck!
