3m clear bra install Tampa

Hi guys!

I just picked my first Porsche and am new to the forum! It's a 2007 911S Cabriolet; I have no experience installing clear bra kits. Anyone that you recommend in the Tampa area? Do it myself? What about Auto Paint Guard shop on Nebraska? Appropriate price if I already have the kit?Any tips insight appreciated.

Thanks, Flea

We actually met one of the guys that works for Autopaintguard at a PCA sponsored event at Bert Smith down here in St. Pete. He was doing a half bra on one of the boxter spyders and answering questions. The lines looked good and he was very knowledgable/friendly. His name was Ryan Burroughs, and when they introduced him they listed off a ton of credentials. Apparantly he has won a number of awards and contests for film application.

I have done tint and some simple vinyl instalations, and the clear bra is not something I would tackle on my own. It just looks very precesion and if it is applied wrong it is going to look BAD. I know these guys are pretty particular about what materials they work with, so they may not use your kit if it is not a brand they endorse, but worth giving a call.

Again thank you,

Unfortunately I am pretty new to the area myself and don’t have any real recommendations for Indies… I am pretty comfortable turning a wrench myself for maintenance/upgrades and have an aftermarket warranty so I see the dealer for most everything else.

Lutz motorsports is a board sponsor and seems to get great reviews/feedback but I’m not sure if they do minor work in addition to the large scale projects I have seen advertised. I keep meaning to take a trip out there to meet them, but just haven’t found the opportunity.

If you're willing to make the trip to Orlando I can set you up with arguably one of the best installers in the business. I can get you a few % off too

I have some maintenance work that I was planning on having done at Vortex. Did you have a bad experience with them, or what makes them obnoxious? I also heard from a member that C2 Design www.c2dusa.com was a good indie. Pricing seemed to be about 20% higher though...

Hi F.A.,

I believe I wrote "obvious"...I have heard Vortex is top notch & widely used by Porsche owners in the Bay area. I was just looking for an other alternative that was good.

Sorry, was trying to read these threads on the blackberry yesterday, and inserted a few too many letters. Glad to hear that Vortex has a good rep...thanks!
