Question What is the best choice lowering spring for 997.1 with Aero Kit?

Hi guys, I have question regarding What is the best choice of lowering spring for 997.1s with Aero Kit? Currently, my 997s front lip is kind of low because I had the AeroKit. I want to lower the car but afraid the lip even lower after I put the spring on. Any suggestion?

Nice car, but a drop would definitely be nicer! Your best bet is get coilovers so you can adjust them to your desired ride height.

+1 on the coilover suggestion so you can adjust the ride height. Beware though, coilovers are notorious for being noisy. This has been well documented on numerous threads. For the lucky few, there are no additional noises. For others, there are clunks, groans, and springy sounds that occur when the the car is going over driveways at low speeds. I'm one of the latter and have tried everything from replacing the strut bearings, lubrication, nylotron washers, etc. Now I've just come to accept the noisiness and am going on with my life. My car looks great though!

TechArt springs. Drop will be 15mm if you car is equipped with PASM, 25mm without. Perfect drop in my opinion.

I also recommend coilovers. Easy to adjust, so you can get the ride height you want or need for the kit pieces. The much improved handling and steering feel is the reason I went with the Damptronics.
BTW, the difference in price for springs versus coilovers is overshadowed by the installation cost of either, so you might as well go for the upgraded suspension bits.
I've not heard of them causing noises unless they are lowered too far. Then you get noises from the coilovers and other suspension parts that are simply too low for the design and geometry of the suspension.
Thanks,
V

+1. BUT, just get the Eibach ones. They make the TechArt springs, have the same drop, a million mile warranty, and are cheaper. I did this on my 06 Aerokit 911.

What is your objective of adding springs..."the look" or added handling, or track use? All of these factors should be taken into account...the vast majority of Porsche owners do not track their car, but simply want a lowered vehicle to help fill the wheel well. For these individuals, a spring setup is the most economical means of accomplishing this.

When you investigate springs, ask the manufacturer what the spring rate is, and how it compares to the OEM spring rate. You probably do not want something that is less than OEM.

All 911s already come with a coil over suspension...a spring over a damper/strut. The GT versions of the 911 come with adjustable coil overs. I think this is what most are suggesting. There is only one company that has a PASM compatible aftermarket coil over suspension system...Bilstein not only manufactures the OEM dampers for Porsche, but also offers an aftermarket solution. All over adjustable coil over suspension systems require you to shut off PASM...a task that requires reprogramming the ECU - KWV3s, Motons, JRZ, etc.

Eibach OEMs for many automakers, aftermarket companies, tuners. Just because Eibach manufactures TechArt's springs, does not make them the same and equivalent. You need to know the spring rate and if it is reasonable for how you want your car to handle.

I wasn't saying they were identical. Simply stating a fact. The Eibach springs are as good as the TechArt springs from all the Porsche reviews I've read. As far as I can find TechArt doesn't publish spring rates... But maybe worth looking into by getting in touch with the manufacturer as you mention.

Sorry, I misunderstood you.

Eibach will give you the spring rates if you call them. TechArt, however, will not.
