This would be a scary thing to lose your wheel at high speed on the track. I agree that they look cool, but I also agree that they may be more pain than they are worth.

whole new wheels. Wow. It will be interesting to see if the design change actually alters the dimensions of the center lock mechanism, as there are several companies making aftermarket CL wheels.

Just curious, what was your code they gave you? They gave me WB10, and when I called my dealer, they said no campaign for me...and that it is AB01...so weird...my car was built in November 2010, and getting conflicting info...hmmm...

I called my service guy yesterday and he said the GTS did not have the recall.

BUT...

(more info from Porsche)

AB01 NHTSA recall: Does not apply to my GTS (and I expect/guess it does not apply to any GTS, but please call Porsche to verify with your VIN)

WB10 (as in Wheel Bolt) Service Campaign: Does apply to my GTS (and again expect/guess it will apply to other GTS vehicles. You can call Porsche at the number listed in the recall to find out or call your servicing dealer). Service Campaigns are not federally mandated and are a Porsche initiated program.

Have not heard back from the dealer with my most recent call today.

Yikes, I thought the whole idea of center locks was they were safer. Nice to get a free set of new wheels on the recall. Of course this begs the question as to the safety of any aftermaker center lock wheels that have been sold.

I just heard about this yesterday from somone at work who as a GT3RS and has his car parked for now until it gets fixed. While it looks cool and I am sure it makes wheels easy to swap, I always wondered about the lack of redundancy you get with centerlocks....I feel a bit more comfortable with 5 bolts.

Atomic is infamous around these parts
one of the main reasons I went for the GTS was the centerlock wheels! Porsche, is taking care of the ones with problems, that's good! I had a open wheel race car with the centerlocks on it, and to have them on my street car is really cool! In hindsight I would still get them!

My GTS is not part of recall

Hello all,

Just double checked with PCNA- my May 3 2011 build 2012 GTS is not in recall VIN list thankfully.

I am inquiring about WB10 Service campaign though at local dealer.

I called PCNA again today to clarify. My GTS (2011) is not included in the AB01 Recall, but is included in the WB10 Service Campaign. I think Porsche is including GTS in Service Campaign to do a thorough check of the CLs just in case. I'm going to have them check next week when I get back from a trip.
