Advice on Price.
The waiting game is always no fun. To wait and hear back from him and see what he says about the price, etc. But I won't rush it or expect anything cause at the end of the day I am a firm believer that whatever should happen, happens.
They haven't checked lately. It was that cheap at one point. I'm seeing low mileage 07's in the high 60's low 70's. That is the realistic price.
Hmmmm.
1) Listed as a lease vehicle ? No service records on carfax ? Does the seller have the title ? Important questions .
2) Dme needed as well as paint and body inspection .
So .. a fellow Porsche guy has a nice car and lists it hoping to get in the low 70's but it's not even close to wholesale. Low balling him will only insult an owner . My guess is he leased it and them modded it and hopes selling it into a strong used market can cover his lease buyout plus the mods . Smart guy .
So what's it really worth ? No where near what he's ready to sell it for . My advice to him would be to keep the car . My advice to you is to keep looking .. and STOP looki8ng at cars with aerokits .

2. Will definitely pull a DME report.
Lastly, I am not looking for only cars with Aerokits I prefer to have one but if it doesn't then I just plan on putting one on after I get the car. I am trying to find something that has the options that I am looking for and has been taken care of to be my first P car. I would rather pay a bit more and get something that I can be safe with after every step has been taken.
Why are you so bent out of shape about me looking for one with what I want? To each their own.

1. Said it hasn't been to the dealer except to change out the Radio and oil changes. Not like carfax or these things are 100% accurate to being with.

2) I understand that you like the aerokit and think that's great . The problems with that are as follows : a) it limits your search , b) the cars with aerokits which are well cared for will ask for top dollar trying to recover the expense of the option , c) the cars which aren't well cared for may have been raced , and d) an aerokit might draw attention away from a possible crashed car by making that new front or rear look pretty enough to overlook anything negative . In fact EVERY time I look at an aerokit car I wonder if it has been crashed .
3) did you ask the seller if he holds the title ?
1) The carfax on my old M3 not only lists the service but even lists when I took the BMW to a Porsche dealership to have a dent specialist pop a ding.

2. Yes at first I was limited by the aerokit before doing research on here and seeing there are a few after mark options and I can add it at any time. This particular car was actually optioned from factory with the AeroKit so that can rule out a part of it. Of course it could always be in a fender bender etc, but from talking to him he said no accidents. He barely drove it, etc. He's not a track guy either. Again I will check DME and ask again.
3. I think he still owes on it, cause he mentioned the price I was trying to get with him is over what he owed.
If everything checks out with PPI and DME readout, that car is very well optioned. 1 year ago when I was looking for 07 C2S's; auction prices were at $59-60K just fairly well optioned, and with more miles (15-20k). Currently used prices are ridiculously high - but that's what the market is currently.
This one has aero kit and a bunch of other goodies - I think you have it right when you can "feel it's worth it". After looking for several weeks/months, you get a feel for what is a good find or not. I say you go for it if everything checks out mechanically.
Curious - what has the seller listed as the sell price?

1. Completely understandable but I have also had the other side of the spectrum with cars, even my own not showing certain things in carfax.

Regarding number 3 -- if he doesn't own the car then the bank really owns it and presents a hurdle different than a dealership or a private sale with a title.
I like the car and the options .. but i like a lot of cars and finding "the one" also means that it has to be priced within reason and with a seller who actually owns it .
Low miles doesn't always mean greatness . A car can be dinged/dented/crashed /etc.. anytime .. even with low miles .
Cars which suffer a major repair can also have low miles . It's not being driven if its in the shop .
Good luck.

Going to talk to my CU to see exactly what the steps are with them.
As far as the accidents etc, go I would go as far as to say that this one probably didn't have anything but of course will get it all checked out. The car from all the pictures looks super clean all the way around.
Of course all this said I won't pull the trigger till everything is checked out from PPI, DME, etc. That's the main reason I came to this forum as I did with my last car purchase, to just get every bit of ammunition I can before I pull that trigger.
Yeah that is something I am going to discuss more in depth with him tomorrow to see which bank it's with etc. My credit union will cut me the check that I would give to the bank that owns it to do a title transfer and figure I give him the difference personally when the title and everything is in my loans name, etc.
Going to talk to my CU to see exactly what the steps are with them.

It does look great in pictures . I won't argue the taste at all except for the Turbo wheels (took them off my turbo) .
The problem is that if he doesn't own it he technically is selling a car which isn't his . Let him pay it off then then buy it .
But another issue is the price . He's in that car for a lot . The exhaust is 3+K . The aerokit is another expense . I'm not crazy about the intake and prefer coil overs above the springs .. but that's just my opinion. BUT all those parts plus install (and tax) cost him money and he can not recover it . If he spent 10K on mods he'd get 3K at best and trade in value of the car is 50 at the best . So any dollar above 53K (estimated wholesale value) is almost 20K off his asking price . Of course the seller desrves profit so the forum members who suggested 60K or so are spot on . But that's still 12K off his price .

I will see what the status is about the buy out etc. I am sure if he leased it then I would have to go through Porsche I guess to get the deal done?
Appreciate all your input. When looking at Trade in Value with the options I was seeing closer to 60K in excellent condition unless I am doing something wrong.

Most dealerships here offer smack between "fair" --"good" price on an excellent car using Kbb numbers . The mods can throw off a car though.
a lot depends on what the mods are and how they were installed . If a person sticks to one shop and consolidates the process to one service professional .. it helps when he sells to car because one technician (or team of technicians) can answer the questions abount the car they worked on.
One of your posts states that he ordered the car this way but a Tubi exhaust and H and R springs are not OEM parts.
Some guys howeber opt to save money though and they buy parts from multiple vendors and have them installed by multiple shops and then they expect a dealership to warranty the car and when it comes time to sell it want the next buyer to pay for it all . (even if its leased) .
