Ski is infamous around these parts
996 X50 Turbo or 997S

I am looking for some feed back to help me decide on which to purchase. I am looking at a 996 with X50 Turbo in very good condition and low miles or a 997 S. Both are close to the same price and I am not sure which will be more fun, have the best performance and be more reliable.

I will be using the car as a weekend car and track.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The turbo sounds tempting but overall I think you will be more happy with the 997S or non S.

What year on the 997. If it's 2009+ or 997.2S, I'd take the 997.2S no doubt . ultimately, I'd probably take the 997S regardless.

You post this question in the 997 section, so your responses isn't going to be too surprising. The 996 turbo is a capable car but the looks both interior and exterior is lacking compared to a 997. Get the 997, saved up 13K and add your own turbo.
