my first DE event at TWS

Hey,
Last weekend I went to my first DE event at Texas World Speedway. It was a blast, and the first time I really drove my car hard. I was terrible at first. It felt like the instructor was speaking a foreign language. I was all over the track and got passed up by everyone. By the third session I started to understand the line and took a few turns right. The next day was a lot better. I got the line right for a few laps, but I was no where near consistent, especially when I started adding speed. I can't wait to go back and work on it more. Anyone ever been it TWS? We running 2.9 track CCW. Turns 2, 7, and exiting 15 were my favorite.

Here's a pic of me in the long straight.

I have run TWS before. Did you go with the Drivers Edge? Or Porsche club? I live in Dallas and do about 5-6 events a year at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson. Last November I drove down to TWS for the first time since I always here how great it is. I had a blast. I had a BMW M5 at that time so I am really excited to try it in my C2S. That was a really fun track to go to. I like the way all the cars park in the middle of the track and you can watch everyone go down the long straightaway. What was your top speed?

I guess the event was sponsored by TWS. I want to go with PCA DE next. My instructor suggested not to change gears. So I kept it in 3rd the whole time. I'd cruise at 80-85 mph at 6-6.5k rmps in the straights, and red line it to 100 mph if I needed to pass someone.
Next time, I'll shift a couple of gears.

I just got done washing my car. I realize why lots of people have tap all over their cars. There were scuffle marks from tire pieces all over. The inside of my wheels had a bunch of chunks too.

clear bra helps a lot. after a while you just start ignoring those. marks from rubber are fine. scuffs and dents from rocks/etc heavy stuff are worse.

you may want to put clear film over your headlights - check ebay for that, there is a seller that has those pre-cut film strips for $12 shipped or so, they are kinda less than nice looking but do work just fine.
