Just curious how many 997 owners are considering swapping out their rides for the 991 when it comes out. I definitely am, but just depends on how big of a hit I'll end up taking on the 997.

how about you?

Are the dealers taking deposits/orders on the 991's?

Too soon to tell. There's not even any clear pictures of the car.... how could one decide such a thing with such little info?

1.24.15 or when I hit 90,276 miles. Whichever comes first.

How many are willing to purchase a FIRST year 991? Then, once they get the bugs out, will they obfuscate and improve ( bastardize) the model lineup over the next 5 years as thay have with the Boxster, Cayman, and 997.2?

The car will be awesome for sure. But im not liking the interior shots ive seen so far. Could definitely change when I see in person. So for me ive had NA 911s with the Gen 2 being the latest and greatest I might look into a Turbo after this car in a few years

Nope, I never buy first year models, if history is any indication. First year model of any make is full of little problems some big (eg. IMS). The 991 doesn't look promising, like someone else has mentioned, looks like a mini-panamera.

No chance. I think it will be fine piece of engineering, but I'm quite content with my 997.2. Around 2015 when my warranty expires, I'll re-evaluate by looking at the used 991 market and of course, my life's circumstances, but for now ... no chance.

I'm waiting for the 991 Turbo to be released, so not a first year for me
my lease on the 4 GTS ends in 3years, so not before that
and the 4S, I might keep?

Not really a consideration at this point, and certainly won't be until I drive it. My intent is to keep the GTS for a LONG time, so unless the 991 really drives me nuts, it's not my plan (and certainly not a 1st MY version).

Will have to see if I like it, then will wait for the 4S to be released. Mine is only 4 months old, so I'm still getting to know it. Will wait at least until the 4S is out, may wait for the Turbo this time, lol...
