Porsche Sports Exhaust questions
Porsche Sports Exhaust questions
I am considering adding the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust to my .2 Carrera S. Dealer is quoting $1300 for the installation on top of the cost of the parts. Would it be prudent to look for other installation options or stick to the dealer service for this? I am thinking of how factory warranty would be affected. Suncoast has the parts listed at $2350.00.
I had the local Porsche dealer install the PSE on my '10 C2S Cab, parts and labor, which does not effect the warranty.
The dealer did not install the PSE on/off switch, that would be there with the factory option. They explained that the on/off switch is not normally installed afterwards (wiring, taking the dashboard apart, etc.)
Some P-car owners have indicated that they like being able to turn the sport exhaust on and off (quiet neighborhoods, early mornings, long trips, etc.).
However, I love the exhaust sound, and thoroughly enjoy having the pipes on all the time. Especially at start-up. It sounds like a huge Doberman or Rottweiller getting ready to bite somebody. I LOVE it.
When I had my '08 C2S (no PSE), although I enjoyed it, I always felt there was something missing. As soon as I started my '10 C2S with the installed PSE, I knew what it was. It was the pipes.

They should have installed the switch. It comes with the package. You should go back.
It's a great system due to flexibility. Not the lightest or loudest but dies not void warranty, is cat back and u can shut it off. Combine with sharkwerks and you will be happy.
