This sounds like a drive by wire implementation of the PDK...... A simulated clutch and lever..... Should be neat...... That explains the launch control feature as it will be automatic.... I bet it will be an option.....

Hmm, that's an interesting as I was wondering how they'd implement the launch control on a manual. I was thinking more along the lines of this though:
Left foot depress clutch
Right foot floors accelerator
Indicator light turns on
Pop clutch - and then some hydraulic magic happens that doesn't destroy the clutch or cause suspension hop, etc.

Yeah...This seems odd to me. The GT2 is about no traction control and no ABS. I find it odd they have a launch control. The 996's don't have that.
