I am hearing that the new 991 turbo is going to be a 2013 model and I thought that the 991 non turbos would be out very soon. But guys are saying that they are getting 2012 model 997.2, thus I am confused.

What model year will the first 991 be?
What month and year will they arrive in the dealerships?

My lease is up 4/12 on my 997.2s but I want my next 911 to be a turbo so I will probably wait till they come out.

 

nobody knows yet the answer to either question. 991 debuts in frankfurt in july. depending who you ask, base and S models will hit the showroom somewhere between dec 11 and april 12, which probably makes them 2013 models. buzz is that the 4 and 4S will be out before summer 2012. turbos and targas -- my best guess, nothing more, is that they will arrive near the end of 2012. i just think porsche is too profit-driven these days to wait to long to roll out the entire range, especially when the turbo is so profitable.

 

Could not agree with you more. With the new influence from VW I can see them rolling the versions out faster then ever.

i think the first 991 carreras will hit the showrooms a few weeks after the IAA in september, nov/dec 2011.

Turbo introduction usually lags the normally aspirated models. At least that what happened when the 997 was launched back in 2004. Turbos and C4 models didn''t happen until mid 2005 if my memory is right.

I ordered a 2012 997 4 GTS.. they will be produced as 2013 earliest

 

yes correct! the PCNA folks at the world roadshow told me they will release the specs to dealers at end of July

 

My dealer told me the 991 will be out next summer as a 2013 model.
