997S cab vs coupe?
997S cab vs coupe?
I just got a new 997S cab. Out of curiosity, for those who have driven both the cab and coupe extensively, how much difference in performance and overall driving experience would you say there is between the two? From what I can tell, the cab is plenty stiff and there isn't much weight penalty with it.
In terms of performance the structural benefits of a coupe can not be matched in a Cab. However, Porsche does a great job at offering top down leisure with enough performance to come close.
Seems that the S cab is about 0.2 s slower from 0-60 than the coupe. Would be interesting to know how the skidpad numbers and track times compare. Not that any of these numbers are the most important things in themselves, but they at least give an idea of how the cars compare.

I made the same the comparison with the M3 vert vs. sedan, and thought the difference was noticable, though the vert is still a "real" M3.
I am not a Cab person but of the Cabs Porsche really gets the job done right .

The Porsche cab blows away the M3 retractable top . The weight of the top combined with the poor visibility when it's up detract from perfomance and enjoyable driving . In contrast Porsche seems to place the height of the door sills perfectly to give enough of a breeze without compromising aerodynamics or comfort.
