997 c2 with 315/25/19 wheels. Need some advise!

Over the weekend I got a great deal on some wheels 19 x 11.5"(315/25/19). they came off of a 996 c4. Got them installed, now I have a big gap of about 2.5" from tire to wheel base, looks like a 4x4. My plan is to drop about an 1" with eibach springs. However the tire sticks out about 1" and I'm worried it will rub.
Should have done more research but thanks to impulse I ended up buying them.

Has any one tried running this size of wheel on 997c2 nb?
I visited 2 shops and they both have different answers. One says After the drop it will have negative camber and fit right in. Another shop says it will deffinately rub.

Would love some feed back... Thanks

i still think they would stick out, i have 305's on my 997.2 C2S and they are a tad sticking outside the fenders.. a 315 would definitely stick out and i think it would rub, and honestly i don't think it would look good..

So what are my options..
1. Change the tires to 305/30/19? Would the tire fit well on 19x11.5"?
2. One car shop recommended, sending the wheels to manufacturer and have them change out the lip to smaller width. Worried about cost on this option..
3. Not adding springs.. They currently don't rub as is. But don't like the look..of a 4x4

Figure out what the offset of the rear wheel is. Everything is just guesswork without knowledge of the offsets.

+1. You need the offset info to figure out if it will rub in the end. Changing the tire to smaller width will not make up for 1" ...

Well when you drop it the 1" if you don't get it aligned you're going to have a negative camber which if you're lucky might tuck the wheel in just enough so it doesn't rub, but i can't see how far out its actually sticking. But its going to chew up the inside of your tires first.

Like others have said, the problem isn't with the tire size, it is the wheel offset. I have 11.5" Champions on my C2S, which have a 62mm offset vs the factory 67. I run 305/30/19 on them, but am going to temporarily mount a set of slightly used 315/25/19 this week as the others are bald. The 315 should stick out about 1/4" more than my 305, but I don't think that will be an issue.

My guess is that you will, as has been stated, find that the offsets are wrong for your car.

I have 11.5x19 ET 61 on the rear of my car. The wheels were made such that I could put 305s on without issue. Going to a 315 would most likely result in a small amount of tire sticking out. However, it sure wouldn't be 1".

Find your offsets and let the group know what you find.
