Random good story

I got home last night after working a lot of hours lately and sat down to watch Rides on HD Theater (love that show/channel). Anyway it was the one with Leno driving the Carrera GT at Talledega... What an awesome episode! (As an aside, I'd pay really good money to have my C2S sound anything like a GT but I realize it's physically impossible).

My P-girl has been sitting in the garage a lot lately so I decided to go out for a joyride and blow off some steam... After some spirited driving I decided to take off PSM and engage Sport. I never did that before. WOOHOO! I simultaneously do and don't recommend it... It's an absolute blast but I lost her at one point and almost did a 180. Thankfully nothing was in the area to cause any damage, but WOW. It's my first time getting around with that weight hanging off the tail end without a computer to protect me and it's a doozie!

Anyway, I had a blast. My heart was certainly pumping and I had a smile from ear to ear.

Thanks for the story. I do the same thing after a butt-kick of a week. I need something and the P-Car is ticket to remind me why I do what I do.

Yeah, so many car-mag reviews make it out like the rear engine weight has been "tamed". I don't know if it can ever truly be!

But, once you become used to the balance, it lets you do things that other cars have a hard time doing. These cars really, really like being driven smoothly!!!

I caught the end of that show. Turned in on just in time to see Leno spinning out in turn three. I'm not sure I'd be able to get back out there and push it even harder after a spinout like that.

It takes real guts. I have a lot of respect for him and even more after seeing that...

These cars are fun when they are in a controlled slide, but I have been know to abuse my car...so don't do it.

Talk about a false confidence booster. Next day in Sport mode I took an interchange at about 90, hit a slide bump on the bridge where the paving changes, and felt the tail hop up and over (probably anywhere from a couple inches to a full tire width). Once the car planted, luckily it continued it's path through the turn.

Pretty sure PSM kicked in and saved my ***, I am now rightfully cautious in Sport mode.

I am making fun of the suggestion by others that I abuse my car. I like it when it has the back end sliding, I think everyone should try and learn how to deal control it.... One of the best attributes of a rear engine car.
