I would talk to the dealer. They must have their preferred glass guy.

1 - You need to get an installer who has done your car many times.
2 - You need OEM glass and all new OEM trim.
3 - The installer must have complete attention to detail - no harm done anywhere and a clean job, also antenna(s) connections done properly.
4 - The work must be done on a spot where the car sits (without moving at all) for at least 24h.

I would involve the dealer in this process and have him be responsible for the work.

That should do it.

I had this years ago on my 993. It even took out a headlight lens and then hit the windshield . (no body damage) .

Insurance took care of everything and wanted me to bring it to a glass place . I felt more comfortable at the authorized Porsche dealership and they complied .

The smell of glue was pretty bad for about a week afterwards . It all worked out OK though.

Recommend you search this forum.
There was some great info posted recently.
Strongly suggest you become familiar with key steps in the process and supervise the installation yourself.

Is it a big crack or just a little "star"? Depending on where it is at and how much your insurance deductible is, you can consider getting it repaired. I had a smal chip on the passenger side of my windshield fixed and you can't even see where it was.

I replaced my windshield twice in a three week period (end of May/beginning of June). Proper installation is critical or you will get a wicked wind noise above 50 mph.

Oh, and the cost with labor is around $1,800.
