12V socket

Just picked up my new 2007 997S on Tuesday and still in a haze of joy! But one question comes to mind: Is there a 12V socket in the passenger compartment other than the cigarette lighter in the center console? I'd really like to plug my Valentine 1 in without having wires running around the stick shift; I could get it hardwired in, but I like being able to take it from car to car.

I run mine from the passenger footwell as well. Then tuck the wire up under the glovebox and up the side by the door jam and you can somewhat discreetly get it to the passenger pillar and along the headliner. I took a small piece of cloth and wrapped it around the wire to keep it snug against the headliner so when you disconnect it the whole thing doesn't come undone.

I have the powered mirrors so I plan on hardwiring it at some point but
that point seems to get further away everyday.

Excellent! Found it! The little plastic cover threw me for some reason, and I had been looking up under the glovebox.
