MY Damn Tire pressure monitor
MY Damn Tire pressure monitor
To hell with this damn inactive tire pressure monitor...lol
The question has been answered before, so I will not ask how to solve it, I will just ask which person can i take the damn car to so it gets fixed. i tried everything except a battery reset, which does not sound like the best idea!? but I just want a professional to look at the problem and get it done for me ASAP. is anyone in the New Jersey area who know what to do with this and can do it for me. The dealer is out of the question as they will just charge for a diagnostic and fix it in a few seconds anyway.
Thanks for the help

the car is an 07, all service has been done to the car including the 40k service.
The problem is, the TPM is saying inactive after it spends 50 miles trying to learn the Tire pressure. However i can see my tire pressure on the passenger side wheels but not the drivers side.
I have look at old post and tried switching the tire mode from summer to winter and other little tricks; however none work.
please tell me were to take it or what to do
Thanks

As someone else already pointed out -- it is probably your batteries.
You may also want to play around with your onboard computer to see if it is a control setting. Your onboard computer has some functions relating to TPMS.
For example, I believe (not 100% sure) that you can recalibrate your TPMS from here.
GL.

It does sound like the sensor batteries are failing. If you want to use the OEM tpms you will have to buy new sensors - you can't replace the batteries IIRC. Try suncoast - it will cost about $125 per I think. U then have to unmount tires, swap sensors out, remount tires and probably rebalance. Dealer could do that part, but so could a tire store.

if you don't have directional tires, you could switch them side to side to see if it's the sensor that's the issue... just a thought but yes, at 5-6 years old, the batteries could be done.
Good luck

I'm surprised that in this day and age with high capacity capacitors and regenerative electronics that there are no TPMS sensors that can store a charge to report pressures at standstlill for days or weeks as well as use the rotational motion of the wheels (the changes in forces on the sensors as they rotate around) to charge said capacitors and power the sensors.
No I think it would just be as annoying as heck to have the error message pop up over and over and over... And just in case you are getting a flat - you might not know until your rim starts chewing up the tire on the road
