New TPC Turbocharged 2005 997S!!!
New TPC Turbocharged 2005 997S!!!
EDIT: New photos added to post #1
Well, my shop finished up my install of the TPC turbo kit last Wednesday so I could get it back in time for a private track event at Roebling Road in Savannah, GA on Friday.
We opted for the upgraded kit with their 3rd radiator/heat exchanger and the GReddy boost controller. We got everything done but the programming of the boost controller so we ran off the wastegate spring at the event which is 4-4.5psi.
I can tell you this, even at low boost this thing is MUCH quicker! The boost spools up quick and smooth and stays all the way to 7K. As far as tuning goes, the car is like stock with ZERO issues. Since this was the first outing with the kit I didn't ring her out. I shifted at 6K most of the weekend to break in the kit and this coming week my shop will take the bumper back off and give everything a look and get the boost controller programmed and get her to the dyno for final #s. I can't wait to drive her at 6psi as it is already a rocket ship at 4.5psi compared to stock!!! I like to thank Casey, Tom, and Mike with TPC for the help along the way and a big thanks to my installer, Tiberio Performance in Tampa, as he worked his butt off to get it down before my track event!
The car did 302rwhp as a baseline:

Here are a few crappy vids of the car at the track. We have 2 in-car vids from the Droid of me and a FFR Cobra having a little fun and then the wife running down a new Audi R8 V10. All I can say is the Audi could not get by us on the straights!
The last 2 vids are outside views so you can hear the exhaust note as I come in to turn 5 and then accelerate out. Turn up your volume!!!
I will get the up close photos of the kit when the car is cleaned up!!! Enjoy!

The wife took 3 sec off her previous best and was doing the same as me.

Thanks for the props guys. It is night and day from my old setup. The car had GIAC tune, drop in filter, headers, and exhaust and sounded better then stock but didn't seem like it had much more then that. Now, you get that turbo spooled and away you go! It is so linear in the delivery that is seems like a STRONG N/A car.
On the track where I had to use 3rd out of a lower speed corner and tach her out, now you can leave in 4th and use the torque and speed away to the next corner. It really was less work for me on the track and I kind of felt like I was cheating . . . LOL.

Remember, this car got double duty at the track! My wife is a student so every track weekend is 4 days in reality!!! It was 95 degrees and humid as a ***** and we ran it pretty hard 8 session each day (4 sessions each driver). What sucks is my video camera was acting up so we got el crapo for vids . . .
At Roebling (2.01 mile 9 turn) road I was running consistent high 1:21s/low 1:22s with traffic on a used set of MPSCs short shifting and taking turn one easier then usual. Next time out we will ring her tight!
Impressive 1st time out.

Sway bars may be on the list.
Yep. We will do a low and high boost pull. Looking at 4.5 and 6.0psi. We just need to be smarter then the GReedy controller . . . LOL. The manual is 50 pages, 45 pages in Japanese and 5 pages in English . . .
Congratualtions on the mod. I really like the work the guys at TPC have been doing. I am really interested in doing a Cayman someday with the turbo mod. I think that would be a lot of fun as well!
Again, congrats and it was fun watching the videos. I am looking forward to more.
